COVID 19 Response
March 19, 2020

Hello everyone from the Camrose United Church Community of Faith.

If there is one thing we can be certain of in our journey, it is that it will always be different than yesterday. As you know, the health situation in our community continues to change rapidly and we are doing our best to respond accordingly. We will continue to post updates as they become available.

After much consultation and deliberation a decision has been made to suspend Sunday worship for the next three Sundays and reevaluate things after April 5, 2020.

At this time, we are asking that all committees and groups take the opportunity to observe a Sabbath from in-person gatherings for the duration of Lent & Easter. If your group finds it necessary to make decisions we encourage the use of email, telephone, Skype, FaceTime or some other form of communication rather than face-to-face gatherings. Let’s all do everything we can to care for our more vulnerable community members.

Office hours are still in effect, staff will still be around, but we ask that anybody visiting the church office take the following precautions:

  1. Please do not visit the office if you have traveled in the past 14 days; are coughing or sniffling; or may have been exposed to a known carrier of COVID 19.
  2. If you are in the office to see anyone or if you use the photocopier, please be aware of what you touch (desk, chair arms, doorknobs, phone, pens, etc.) and clean it with the supplies provided by Teri or Jack.
  3. If you cannot convey your needs, concerns or questions via the phone (780-672-2176) or email (, and you have the sniffles or a cough, please wear a mask when you come in.
  4. If you are not currently on pre-authorized remittance (PAR) for regular church donations you may:
    • Call Teri in the office and she will help to get you started with PAR (forms can also be downloaded as WORD document or PDF)
    • continue your donations through E-Transfer by sending your offering to the main office:
    • donate online through the Canada Helps.
    • mail in your offering or drop it in the office mail slot if you are at the building for other reasons.

Our Ministry team will be meeting to determine how we will support each of us in our worship in these days ahead. Please keep an eye on, our Facebook page or your email for more details.

Whether it was as those early fishermen who dropped everything to follow Jesus or those Christian communities who, for different reasons, worshipped in small groups, we have walked toward the unknown with uncertainty and hope. We have been here before. The light of Christ guides us and we will get through this.

Stay safe, and blessings to all.
Pastor John on behalf of the Ministry Team and Church Council
